Terms of service

Short, and written so you can actually check whether we are keeping to it.

Applies to
huegrade.com and every tool on it

By using huegrade.com you agree to these terms. If you do not, please do not use the site. We have kept them to what is genuinely needed, and anything that reads like a promise here is meant as one.

The short version. Use the tools for anything you like, commercial work included. What you generate is yours — we take no rights in it. Do not attack the service or use it to harm other people. Pro is $6 a month, cancellable any time, and runs to the end of the period you have paid for.

Using the service

Most of HueGrade is free and needs no account. You may use it personally or commercially, on client work, on products you sell, and inside a company — no separate licence is required for any of that.

What we ask you not to do:

  • Attack or degrade the service — automated scraping at a volume that affects other users, attempts to break authentication, probing for vulnerabilities without asking us first.
  • Use the site inspector on sites you have no right to inspect, or to reproduce someone else’s protected material as your own.
  • Upload material to the image tools that you do not have the rights to, or that is unlawful.
  • Resell the service itself, or wrap it as your own product. Selling work you made with it is exactly what it is for; selling access to it is not.
  • Circumvent the Pro paywall, or share an account to avoid paying for it.

Security research is welcome — tell us first at mdfaysalkhancse@gmail.com and give us a chance to fix what you find. We will not pursue anyone who reports a problem in good faith.

Accounts

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think it has been used by someone else. One person, one account; a team should have an account each. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why.

You can close your account whenever you like. It deletes your saved palettes with it, so export anything you want to keep first.

Your content

Palettes, gradients, exports, images you open in the editor — all yours. We claim no ownership and take no licence in them. Saved palettes are stored so we can show them back to you and for no other purpose: we do not publish them, feature them, train on them or sell them.

What you may do with a palette a tool generated for you is set out on the license page, which is the authoritative statement on that.

Pro subscriptions

  • Price and renewal. Pro is $6 per month, charged in advance and renewing each month until you cancel. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax your jurisdiction adds.
  • Payment. Handled by HandyPay. We never see your card details.
  • Cancelling. Cancel from your account page at any time. Pro stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, then the account returns to Free — no partial-month refund and no charge after that.
  • Existing subscribers keep their price. If we raise the list price, subscriptions already running stay at the price they started at for as long as they stay active.
  • Refunds. If Pro is not what you expected, email us within 14 days of a charge and we will refund it. Beyond that we will still listen — just ask.
  • Downgrading. Palettes saved above the Free cap are not deleted when a subscription ends; you simply cannot add more until you are back under it.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the site up but do not promise uninterrupted service. The color tools run in your browser and keep working during most outages; sign-in and saved palettes need our server and will not.

Features change. We publish what changed on the changelog. If we ever have to remove something a Pro subscription was sold on, we will give notice and a refund rather than a footnote.

Third-party services

Some parts of the site depend on others: stock photos from Pixabay, the photo editor built on Filerobot, ads from Google, payments through HandyPay. Their terms apply to their part, and we are not responsible for content we do not author — including the contents of an ad.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is”. Our contrast figures follow the published WCAG formulas and our color conversions use established libraries, and we hold our own site to them — but we cannot guarantee that any particular result satisfies a legal accessibility obligation or a brand requirement of yours. Verify anything you are going to be held to. An automated check is evidence, not a certificate.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profits, lost data, work you have to redo. For anything we are liable for, our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which for a free account is nothing. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not remove any protection your local law gives you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top says when we last did. For a change that materially affects your rights or what Pro costs, we will notify subscribers by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
